What is a Corporate Action?

A Corporate Action can be any event that results in a material change to a company which is usually approved by the company's board of directors and/or shareholders. Many Corporate Actions can result in an alteration to a company's share capital or distribution of benefits.

Examples of Corporate Action events are: takeovers, mergers, capital re-organisations, dividends, rights issues, consolidations and bonus issues.
